Jonas Wexler has secured another win in his poker career by taking down the Pennsylvania State Poker Championship at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia. The event, which was part of the 2024 series sponsored by PokerStars, drew a competitive field of 499 entrants across four Day 1 flights. This created a hefty prize pool of $479,040, making for an exciting tournament.
After advancing to Day 2 with 62 other players, Wexler navigated through a field of seasoned competitors to reach the final table. The tournament’s conclusion saw a four-way deal among the remaining players, with Wexler emerging as the chip leader. His share of the deal was $58,780, adding to his impressive career earnings, which already exceed $1.2 million.
Not only did Wexler claim the top prize, but he also earned a Gold Pass to the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas Main Event. This prize package includes travel, accommodation, and entry into the $5,300 tournament.
Kevin Roche, a resident of Westchester, PA, took home the largest cash prize from the deal, walking away with $59,783. This score pushed Roche’s career tournament earnings past the $100,000 mark, making it a significant milestone for him. Third place went to Jose Waybright, who won $57,546, more than tripling his previous poker earnings. William Chisholm rounded out the top four, earning $55,206 in what was his first live tournament cash.
The final table saw intense action, with several notable players exiting before the final four made their deal. Wexler’s win not only cements his reputation as a skilled and seasoned player but also sets him up for further success in the upcoming NAPT event.
