The Barstool Sports founder has hinted at interest in hitting the WSOP felt

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is debating whether to take a break from eating pizza to compete at this summer’s 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP). The host of the popular One Bite Pizza Reviews YouTube channel recently tweeted that he might make the trip to Las Vegas in his quest to win a gold bracelet.

The world’s most acclaimed poker championship, the $10,000 buy-in Main Event, kicks off on July 3. While Portnoy isn’t keen on playing poker over the July 4th holiday, Barstool personality and Cracking Aces podcast host Ben Mintz responded that “El Presidente” could wait to enter on Day 1d on July 6 or register before Day 2 on July 7 or 8.

If Portnoy can’t make it to Las Vegas for the Main Event, he mentioned another option: Event #55: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold ’em starting on June 21, which has the highest buy-in of the series.

If he enters his first-ever WSOP event, Portnoy will bring his confidence and polarizing personality to the Super High Roller. But his inexperience will have some of the world’s best players targeting his stack. Chris Brewer won last year’s event for $5.2 million after beating Dan Smith, Chance Kornuth, and David Peters at the final table.

Portnoy has rated several pizza joints in Las Vegas on his YouTube channel, with few receiving high marks except Dom Demarco’s. He could have extra time to review a few others if he crashes in the $250k.
