The event gets underway today and runs through December 4
The World Poker Tour (WPT) returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, for the Rock ‘nhold’ Roll Poker Open (RRPO) Championship. This annual poker event, running today and runs through December 4, promises excitement and high stakes, featuring a $3,500 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $3 million. Set against the iconic backdrop of the Guitar Hotel, the tournament is a highlight of the poker calendar during the holiday season.
This year’s RRPO Championship is expected to draw a large field, building on the success of last year’s tournament, which attracted 1,447 entries and generated a prize pool exceeding $4.6 million. In last year’s occasion, Hungary’s Istvan Briski claimed the top spot after a heads-up deal with Rayan Chamas, solidifying his victory on the final day.
The championship spans five days, starting with two opening flights. Players begin with a 50,000-chip stack and can enter or re-enter until Level 9. The opening days feature ten 60-minute levels, providing ample opportunity for competitors to build their stacks.
Level durations will adjust during the tournamentβ60 minutes for Day 3, 90 minutes when 40 players remain, and returning to 60 minutes for the six-player final table. Heads-up play shifts to 30-minute levels to ensure a dynamic conclusion.
Beyond the championship, the WPT offers added incentives, including Golden Passports for the top chip leaders at the end of each starting flight. These passports grant entry into an exclusive $5 million invitational freeroll held in December. The freeroll will reward 25% of its 2,000 participants with payouts starting at $1,000, culminating in a $1 million top prize.
The RRPO Championship is not just a competition but a celebration of poker’s community, offering players of all levels a chance to compete for life-changing rewards.
