The iconic Vegas casino has confirmed that it’s bringing back the shuttered space
Caesars Palace in Las Vegas is set to bring back its poker room, with plans to reopen ahead of this summer’s World Series of Poker. The previous poker area was closed in June to make space for a new high-limit slot section, raising concerns among players about whether the room would return. However, Caesars Entertainment’s regional president, Sean McBurney, confirmed that a new poker room is in the works and will be ready by late spring, just in time for the WSOP.
The extended closure had some poker enthusiasts worried, especially given the number of poker rooms that have permanently shut down on the Las Vegas Strip in recent years. Casinos like Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, Mirage, and Harrah’s have all removed their poker offerings following the COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020.
Other venues, such as Mandalay Bay, have reduced their poker hours, no longer operating around the clock. With over 40 poker rooms closing in Las Vegas since 2012, concerns about the future of Caesars’ room were not without merit.
The reopening of the poker room is part of a larger effort to renovate and modernize Caesars Palace. The property has undergone significant upgrades, including changes to the main casino entrance, lobby, and gaming areas. New high-limit gaming sections, additional bars, and revamped luxury suites have also been introduced. McBurney emphasized that continuous updates are key to keeping the property competitive and appealing to visitors.
While Caesars has not officially revealed details about the new poker room, reports suggest it may open on May 16. Sources indicate the room will feature eight tables and be located near Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill in the Appian Way retail area.
